Rai Radio Trst A is Italian public radio station owned by Rai. The station broadcasts programmings in Slovene language.
History[]
On 5 February 1944 the radio was born.
From 1 May 1945 it assumed the name of Radio Trieste Libera under the direction of the Allied Forces and both Slovenian and Italian journalists collaborated there.
On June 12, 1945 the radio direction was assumed by the Civil Administration of the city of Trieste.
In 1946 the radio doubled and transmitted on two different frequencies, one dedicated to the Slovene language and one to the Italian one.
In 1949 the direction of the radio passed to Rai assuming the name of Radio Trieste II and shortly after in Radio Trst A.
In 1964, on May 6, the new regional Rai headquarters was inaugurated in Trieste.
From 6 to 8 May 2014, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the regional headquarters, the radio studios will be opened to the public on a guided historical journey. On 4 July the president of the Rai, Anna Maria Tarantola and the general director Luigi Gubitosi visited the headquarters of Rai Friulana and the studios of Rai Radio Trst A. On this occasion, the table was reconstituted, with the president of the Region Debora Serracchiani. Rai-Region technical FVG deputed to the development of new collaborations between the two entities. Wednesday, October 8, at the Sala Selva of Palazzo Gopcevich, the exhibition Che storia la Rai... 50 years of the Rai headquarters for Friuli Venezia Giulia" is inaugurated.
